Most Mobile Safari people use the m. interface. Or the IM interface. I remember Jyri saying they were looking at it a back when the iPhone first launhed, but he lack of an SDK at the time prohibited them from providing an experience akin to what their Nokia S60 clent does. So blame Apple.
Of course, friends don't let friends buy iPhones, but that's a different discussion...
